Screening services are provided to assist in the identification of children who have concerns for speech/language or developmental delays. Screenings may include data gathering, record review as well as formal and informal screening procedures such as vision, hearing and parent interview.
Evaluation services provide a formal examination of all areas of development including speech. The evaluation is used to determine eligibility for the ESE program.
An Eligibility meeting will occur once the evaluation report is received. Families are given a copy of the child's evaluation and it is reviewed. If the team determines that the child is eligible for services, an Individual Education Plan (IEP) will be written, which will consist of goals that the family and teacher agree best meet the needs of the child.
